Thirteen FFA Members Slated To Seek State Officer Positions In June

HAINES CITY, Fla. – The 2012 State Officer Screening Committee slated the following student members as candidates for state office. Forty student members took part in the 2012 Screening Process. These student members were challenged with an individual interview, written exam, individual problem solving activity, group problem solving activity, SAE interview, Agricultural Education Interview, and conversational exercise. The selected candidates will seek election at the 84th Florida FFA State Convention.

Presidential Candidates

  • Clayton Willis, South Lake FFA

Area I Candidates

  • Shelby Calloway, Malone FFA
  • Christen Howell, Sneads FFA

Area II Candidates  

  • Cecelia Koon, Lafayette FFA
  • Sarah Trimm, Bronson FFA

Area III Candidates

  • Amber Sapp, South Sumter FFA
  • Justin Watson, Pine Ridge FFA

Area IV Candidates                        

  • Katie Hutchinson, West Orange FFA
  • Harley Zoeckler, Frostproof FFA

Area V Candidates  

  • David Walden, Durant FFA
  • Lucas Worley, Lennard FFA

Area VI Candidates

  • Ashley Hassan, Okeechobee Brahman FFA

The primary responsibility of a state officer is to serve the Florida FFA Association, Agricultural Education and Agriculture as an ambassador in local, state and national activities in a way that will inform, motivate and inspire FFA members, advisors and others to embrace and uphold the FFA mission.
