PERRY, Fla. – Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the 2012 State Forestry Career Development Event (CDE).  The event was held November 15-16, 2012 at the Florida Forest Capital in Perry, Florida.  Eight middle school and 10 high school teams competed for the top spot at the two-day event.

The Florida FFA Association is very appreciative of the support from the Florida Forest Service and event coordinator, Mr. Jim Fleming.

The first place middle school team was Fort White Middle School FFA, from Fort White, Florida.  Team members included Taylor Gebo, Makenzie Laidig, Colby Laidig and Taylor Miller.  The advisor for Fort White MS FFA is Jill Huesman.  The high individual for the middle school division was Makenzie Laidig, also from Fort White.

The first place high school team was Bartow FFA, from Bartow, Florida.  Team members included Rachel Locke, Taylor Ross, Brett Wasden and Hunter Westmoreland.  The advisors for Bartow FFA are Marie Fussell and Doug Welliver.  The high individual for the high school division was Brett Wasden, also from Bartow.

As a matter of procedure, event results are considered unofficial for (2) business days following publishing. It is the responsibility of the FFA Advisor to request and review individual team results. Any appeal must be made to the FFA Executive Secretary in writing for necessary adjustments to be made.  At the close of business on the second business day following publishing, results will be official.
