Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the Meats Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE). The event was held April 21, 2012 at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville. 12 high school and 6 middle school teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Aquaculture CDE is to stimulate student interest in the aquaculture industry, encourage aquaculture instruction in the agricultural education curriculum, and to provide recognition for those who have demonstrated skills and competencies in the area of aquaculture production and management. Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinator Dr. Denise Petty, the students, faculty and staff of the UF Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Department and our aquaculture industry partners.
As a matter of procedure, event results are considered unofficial for (2) business days following publishing. It is the responsibility of the FFA Advisor to review individual team results. Individual team results may be found online at: High School Aquaculture Results or Middle School Aquaculture Results. Any appeal must be made to the FFA Executive Secretary in writing for necessary adjustments to be made. At the close of business on the second business day following publishing, results will be official.
