Orlando, Fla. – The Strawberry Crest Jr. FFA Chapter won the Agriculture Issues Forum Career Development Contest. The chapter was honored at the 84th Annual State FFA Convention.

The purpose of the agriculture issues forum is to present a current issue to the audience using professional ethics and standards. Students make presentations as a team to demonstrate their knowledge of current issues facing agriculture at the local, state and national levels.

The top five teams in the state received trophies and individual members of the first place team and the high individual of the contest received trophies from the state sponsor, the University of Florida Collegiate FFA. Other chapters in the top five include:

5th place: Sickles

4th place: Sneads

3rd place: Strawberry Crest

2nd place: Pine Ridge

Strawberry Crest Jr. FFA Chapter members who participated in the event include Richelle Sapp, Rachelle Sapp, Lindsey Killebrew, Morgan Gaudens, Danielle Mayo and McKenzie Greene.

For their success the state winning team also received a travel scholarship from J.J. and Jennifer Grow to help defray the cost of traveling to compete for the national title at the National FFA Convention in October.
