CDE Results – 2012 HS Horse CDE (State Fair Preliminary)

Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the 2012 State Horse Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE) Preliminary.  The event was held February 12, 2012 at the Florida State Fair in Tampa. 69 teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Horse Evaluation CDE is to stimulate the study of, and interest in, equine science selection. Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinator Dr. Saundra TenBroeck, the University of Florida Animal Sciences Department, and the Florida State Fair.

The top 15 teams will advance to the state finals later this year.

As a matter of procedure, event results are considered unofficial for (2) business days following publishing. It is the responsibility of the FFA Advisor to request and review individual team results. Any appeal must be made to the FFA Executive Secretary in writing for necessary adjustments to be made.  At the close of business on the second business day following publishing, results will be official.

CDE Results – 2012 Livestock CDE (State Fair Preliminary)

Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the 2012 State Fair Livestock Career Development Event (CDE) Preliminary.  The event was held February 11, 2012 at the Florida State Fair in Tampa. 74 teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Livestock Evaluation CDE is to stimulate learning activites related to the production and marketing of cattle, sheep and swine. Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinator Dr. Chad Carr, the University of Florida Animal Sciences Department, and the Florida State Fair.

Please note that qualified teams will be announced after the Chipley Livestock Preliminary at the end of this month. The top 30 teams from the combined preliminaries will move on to the state finals.

As a matter of procedure, event results are considered unofficial for (2) business days following publishing. Gray Middle School FFA Wins 2012 Horse Evaluation CDE

MARIANNA, Fla. – Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the Middle School Horse Evaluation (CDE).  The event was held Saturday, January 21st at Jackson County Agricultural Center in Marianna, Fla. Twenty teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Horse Evaluation is to stimulate the study of, and interest in, equine science selection while providing recognition for those who have demonstrated skill and competency in this area.

Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinators Dr. Saundra TenBroeck and Wendy DeVito from the University of Florida and Kim Barber and Shawna Ferguson from Jackson County.  Florida FFA would also like to express appreciation to the Chipola FFA Federation for providing lunch to each participant.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the 2011 Food Science & Technology Career Development Event (CDE).  The event was held December 3, 2011 at the University of Florida. 26 high school teams and 14 middle school teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Food Science CDE is to stimulate learning activities in food science and technology related to the food industry and to assist students in developing a good working knowledge of sound principles used in a team decision-making process. HAINES CITY, Fla. – Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the Citrus Evaluation (CDE).  The event was held November 17, 2011 at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center in Haines City, Florida. 25 high school teams and 24 middle school teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. The purpose of the Citrus Evaluation CDE is to stimulate learning activities in the production and management of citrus fruit.

CDE Results – 2011 Environmental Science CDE

LIVE OAK, Fla. – Florida FFA is pleased to announce the results of the Environmental Science and Natural Resources Career Development Event (CDE).  The event was held November 8th at the UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center in Live Oak, Florida. Eleven (11) teams from throughout Florida gathered to compete for the top spot. Florida FFA is very appreciative of the support of our event coordinator Carolyn Saft and UF/IFAS for hosting this event.

The purpose of the Environmental Science and Natural Resources Career Development Event (CDE) is to stimulate student interest and to promote environmental and natural resource instruction in the agricultural education curriculum and to provide recognition for those who have demonstrated skills and competencies as a result of environmental and natural resource instruction.

As a matter of procedure, event results are considered unofficial for (2) business days following publishing. It is the responsibility of the FFA Advisor to request and review individual team results. Any appeal must be made to the FFA Executive Secretary in writing for necessary adjustments to be made.  At the close of business on the second business day following publishing, results will be official.
